Do you love Lodge Cast Iron pans?  If so, and you find yourself in the Southern Middle area of Tennessee, you might want to check out the Lodge Factory Store.  It’s located in the city of Pittsburgh.  We were on a cross country RV trip (California to KY and TN) and we were staying at The Broken Banjo RV Park in Manchester .  While doing laundry (at the RV park) I was checking out the touristy things to do, you know those pamphlets they put out of nearby attractions.

I found a coupon to get a 10.25″ pan for $4.99 (a factory second and with a purchase of $20).  We had an open day so we drove the 40-45 minutes from Manchester down to the factory store.

I grabbed two coupons, one for me and one for my husband.  The coupon is for a Factory Second.   Upon arriving to the store you see the Lodge colors – Yellow and Black.  Out front you are greeted by a cast iron couple and a dog.  We bought two pans and I really didn’t see any defects.  Plus, it was the one size I didn’t have, so I was happy!

I took a quick video in the store (I know, not the greatest) but you can get an idea of what the store looks like.  The area of seconds is pretty large and has different products, not just the pans.  I bought a grill topper in the seconds section and can’t wait to use it grilling onions and other veggies.

Being a camper, I loved these two pans.  They are in the “Wanderlust” collection.

My cast iron pans were always stacked and sat on my stove top.  I didn’t have a good place in a cupboard to store them and would always have to move them around when I was using the stove top.  I saw this stand in the Factory Store but didn’t buy it. Darn!!  Because once I was home from our trip, and now that I had four cast iron pans, I really needed that stand.  I found one in the Lodge Store on Amazon and am really happy with how it works on my counter! How do you store your cast iron pans?

I bought a few other items, one being this set of scrapers and a new set of hot handle holders.  If you use these “mitts” on a small pan, over a med/large gas burner, watch out .. my husband has had a few catch fire.  I always pull them out a bit to avoid that from happening.

It was really fun learning more about Lodge Cast Iron and finding out where my pans were made.

Here is my favorite Lodge Cookbook.  I love the whole chicken recipe!
