I was recently down at Campland On the Bay in San Diego, California and took a few pictures.  I love being able to see what campsites will actually look like before I arrive for the camping trip.  Is that an A personality thing?  I don’t care if it is … as I am a bit anal … but I just like seeing where I’m camping.

Direct from the Campland site

“Located on the shores of Mission Bay, and part of Mission Bay Park, Campland has been a vacation spot for families since 1969. The balmy climate, proximity to Sea World (so close you can watch the theme park’s fireworks display at night from the campground), Legoland, San Diego Zoo, the Gaslamp Quarter and other area attractions, combined with Campland’s amenities, make this beachfront playground a legendary family retreat.

The property includes: swimming pools and accompanying Jacuzzi hot tubs, immaculate bathrooms and showers, a marina with 124 slips, watercraft and bicycle rentals, game room, restaurant, market, laundry facilities, WIFI, camp sites ranging from primitive to full hook-up RV, and a Super Site–complete with a private patio and jacuzzi, grill, and a spectacular view of the marshland and bird sanctuary.

For those birding enthusiasts, Campland overlooks the Kendall Frost Wildlife Preserve–home to egrets, black-crowned night herons, least terns, and the endangered clapper rail.

Campland is the ideal place for many families. The parents can come enjoy and relax because they feel that their children are in a safe environment. Kids and adults find they invariably develop friendships with other campers because so many families return year after year.

Indeed with such activities as volleyball, scavenger hunts, sand castle building contests, campfire sing-a-longs, ping pong, tie dye and other arts and crafts, there is plenty to keep kids of all ages occupied while their parents find some much-needed down time.

With so many activities, the convenient location and wonderful climate, it’s little wonder that so many of our campers keep coming back for more.”
